Hello hello!
SO, what’s up with Genuine lately….? Hmm..
I think as of today, this will be the third full week of Genuine practices. It’s been going pretty well. We have roughly 30 dancers in all, so we’re all still trying to get to know each other. So far, I’m loving the people in Genuine. Good vibes all around. :) We learned a couple choreos and the run down for the next couple months.
Teaching my pieces and learning Ajay’s pieces were pretty fun, but it can be kinda annoying learning from the same people week after week. So we decided to have choreographer auditions the 2nd week into the season (OG members only please). All the people who auditioned had awesome choreos, but we have made our decisions… and we’ll let those who auditioned for a choreogrpher slot know by next week. =D I’m excited to have more people in the “Genuine Dance Company Staff” … haha. Cuz it was kinda weird having ony two people… lol.
Ajay and I have talked about performing at TASA Freestyle in November, but nothing’s set in stone. We believe it’ll be a good place to start with staging and performing.
Okie, so we’ll try to keep you guys updated. I’m actually getting ready for practice now… =D Bye.
Stay Real, Stay Genuine.

Hey guys! What’s up? This is Rosey from Genuine Dance Company. I work side by side with Ajay Rijhsinghani, our director. I’m just here on tumblr to update you peeps on what’s going on with Genuine this upcoming season. =D
Well during Season I, honestly, we started off skeptical. Most (if not, all) of us were beginners—learning choreo, memorizing tansitions, performing on stage, etc. But we definitely buckled down and got to work as our first performance came close. We performed successful shows at OBHS Asian Show and MHS Asian Night with our first set (Dead Circus Theme). Also, a select few of us performed at Six Flags America in Washington, DC this pass summer. That was a lot of fun. =D
I don’t know about you, but I’m soo excited for our season II auditions! (Ill post details later ;]) When I auditioned last year for season I, I honestly didn’t expect to learn and grow as much as I did— not only as a dancer, but as a person with character. And I’m pretty sure most of the OG Genuine members can say the same. Practices are fun and laid back, but at the same time we know when to pay attention and get serious. There always seems to be good vibes around Genuine in and out of the studio.
We respect one another as well as the numerous other dance teams in the tri-state area. We are all aware that the dance community in NY/NJ/PA is HUGE, but we are inspired, motivated, and determined to stand out from the crowd and make it to the top. I know it may seem like we have high expectations for ourselves so early, but in order to become better, we must set goals.
So if you’re interested in being part of the Genuine Fambam, consider auditioning on Sunday, Oct. 4, 2009. If not, SUPPORT! … That’s always a good idea. :) You can support us by watching our YOUCHOOB! videos, following us on TWITTER, or even spreading word about Genuine.
I know I’ve probably been babbling on and on, so I’m going to stop now and let you go back to what you we’re doing. ;]
Stay Real, Stay Genuine.
